Salt Mine Targu Ocna

Târgu Ocna Salt Mine is a large salt mine located in eastern Romania in Bacău County, close to Târgu Ocna. Târgu Ocna represents one of the largest salt reserves in Romania having estimated reserves of 229 million tonnes of NaCl.
In “the heart of the salt mine”, the new and modern sightseeing and recreation base was arranged. Situated 240 m deep, on an area of 13,000 sq.m., the location offers the best conditions for: treatment of respiratory disorders; relaxation; practising sports like: mini-football, basketball, lawn tennis, table tennis; knowledge and recollection in the sacred place of the church.
The salt water lake and waterfalls make the fascinating scenery complete.
For children there are playgrounds with swings, slides and rockers. The inflatable slides are the preferred place of the little visitors. The slot machines are a real attraction for tourists no matter their age. Tourists can also enjoy a billiards game.
Underground there is a space for gym and a medical office. The treatment of respiratory disorders is made in the presence of the specialized staff.
You can also visit the “Sfanta Varvara” Church – located 240 m underground, the only church in Europe almost entirely built of salt; as well as the Salt Museum; the salt water lake and waterfalls.
The temperature underground is 12-13 degrees.

What Our Trainers Say?
It's been a really great experience here at English Cool Camp and I'd recommend it to anyone. The kids are lovely; they instantly love you and it's a lot of fun.
Sinead, UK
I had an amazing time, making new connections, and enjoying Romanian landscapes and culture. English Cool Camp was one of the best things I've ever done.
John, Canada
It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Here I've met people from all over the world, I've seen a lot of Romanian life, and I've taught English in a really fun way.
